NW 844 PROLENE Monofilament polypropylene blue
- PROLENE Sutures (clear or pigmented) are non-absorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. The suture is pigment blue to enhance visibility.
- PROLENE Sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximating and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic procedures, and neurological procedures.
- Prolene sutures are available in clear or pigmented format. These are non-absorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene.
The suture pigment is blue to enhance visibility. - Used in general soft tissue approximation, cardiovascular and ophthalmic procedures as well as neurosurgical procedures.
High tensile strength and ‘stretch before break’ breaking resistance inculcated into every strand. The unique extrusion process ensures uniform suture diameter, which avoids suture weak spots.
Minimal inflammatory reaction in tissue, resulting in minimal trauma. - As a monofilament, PROLENE Sutures resist involvement in infection and have been successfully employed in contaminated and infected wounds to eliminate or minimize later sinus formation and suture extrusion.
